Who is going to direct Superstar Rajinikanth in ‘Thalaivar 171’ and ‘Thalaivar 173’?

Superstar Rajinikanth is now shooting for his 170th film, ‘Vettaiyan’, directed by TJ Gnanavel. Meanwhile, we all know that Lokesh Kanagaraj is set to direct the legendary actor in ‘Thalaivar 171’. Produced by Sun Pictures, this film’s shooting is all set to commence in April.

Now, we hear that the most-awaited projects ‘Thalaivar 172’ and ‘Thalaivar 173’ are locked. According to DT Next, directors Mari Selvaraj and Nelson Dilipkumar are joining Rajinikanth for his 172nd and 173rd films respectively. Seven Screen Studio is set to bankroll ‘Thalaivar 172 while the Jailer makers Sun Pictures are coming back to produce ‘Thalaivar 173’.

A source said, “After Maamannan’s release, Rajini met Mari Selvaraj and was impressed by his work. At this point, the actor received a one-liner pitch from the director. The project was locked after Thalaivar was impressed with the bound script. These projects will have an official announcement later this year.”

It is also reported that Karthik Subbaraj is highly likely to direct Superstar Rajinikanth again in ‘Thalaivar 174’ or ‘Thalaivar 175’. The two already delivered the blockbuster ‘Petta’ in 2019 which is hailed as one of the best films in Rajinikanth’s career. Karthik Subbaraj is one of the biggest fanboys of Thalaivar.
