Manoj Kothari, a spokesperson of the YSRCP, has put his party in trouble by commenting in a sting operation that his party has a “tacit understanding” with the BJP for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
A national TV channel has conducted the sting. In it, the reporter is seen asking questions to Kothari regarding the relationship between the saffron party and Jagan’s party. YSRCP will field weak candidates if BJP wants to win a few seats in the State, the spokie is heard suggesting. He also talks about a YSRCP leader meeting BJP’s Ram Madhav in recent past.
The sting operation has come to be seen as an embarrassment for YSRCP, which might very well support the NDA in a post-poll environment if there were to be such a need. The TDP is expected to leave no stone unturned to use this sting to project YSRCP as BJP’s B-Team.
