‘Stand Up Rahul’ Teaser: A coming-of-age romantic comedy

At the beginning of the teaser for ‘Stand Up Rahul’, we see Hriday Ranjan (a stand-up comedian) say that originality is the hallmark of a good comedian. Raj Tarun, as Rahul, is then seen cracking an SMS-era joke as a girl (Varsha Bollamma) looks terribly bored. The teaser for the film, which is helmed by Santo, makes it clear that we understand the intentions behind the title. 

As the teaser progresses, Rahul goes through a number of challenges, apparently because of a woman. His ‘originality’ comes out in the form of ‘men are women’s victims’ jokes. 

Also starring Vennela Kishore, the versatile Murali Sharma and yesteryear actress Indraja, the rom-com has Devi prasad, Madhurima Narla, Rajkumar Kasireddy and Tejo Bhattaru in other roles. 

Produced by Dream Town Productions, Highfive Pictures (Nandkumar Abbineni, Bharath Maguluri), the film’s songs have been set to tune by Sweekar Agasthi. Sreeraj Raveendran is its cinematographer. Editing is by Raviteja Girijala, while Uday Umagopal is its art director. With the lyrics by Ananth Sriram, Kittu Vissapragada, Rahman, and Vishwa, the film has also been written by Anusha Rao and Prashanth Yerramilli. Stunts are by Anji.
