Back in 2007, a particular medium-range movie became a big Summer hit. It was ‘Dhee’, the action rom-com that was packed with superb rib-tickling scenes. About 13 years later, its director, Srinu Vaitla, is reportedly mooting a thematic sequel to the Manchu Vishnu-starrer.
As per unconfirmed reports, the project will see Vaitla teaming up with Vishnu, once again. The Manchu actor, who is actively announcing projects (besides ‘Mosagallu’, he will be doing ‘Bhakta Kannappa’ on a budget of Rs 60 Cr) of late, is said to be keen on this comedy.
‘Dhee’ was written by Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan. These writers were at their humorous best whenever they collaborated with Vaitla in their heyday. Of late, Vaitla has been penning his own movies, something that hasn’t worked out for him. He has delivered a slew of flops over the last 8-9 years. Let’s hope for the best!
