South Korean star Gong Yoo, who made a cameo appearance in the highly successful Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ as a salesman, made his debut on Instagram recently and the actor gained nearly 1.5 million followers on his first day in the picture sharing platform.

Announcing the news, Gong Yoo’s agency said, “Hi. This is Management SOOP. Thank you to all the fans who always support Gong Yoo. We opened an official Instagram account to convey the daily life of the actor Gong Yoo to all the fans. @_gongyoo_official_ Gong Yoo has no other social media, and this account is directly managed by Management SOOP. Thank you.” As a tribute to the famous series, Gong Yoo shared his first post which featured a squid on a bowl. The actor, who is followed by Korean star Bae Suzy, among others, is yet to receive his verification badge from Instagram.

Despite starring in several hit films and web series, Gong Yoo became immensely popular in other countries, including India, following his cameo appearance on Squid Game. The actor will next be seen in the mystery thriller project ‘The Silent Sea,’ directed by Choi Hang Yong.
