Lyricist Snehan found fame with the younger genaration after participating in and emerging as the finalist in 'Bigg Boss' inaugural season hosted by Kamal Haasan. After the show he has become the first executive member of Makkal Needhi Maiam and is also busy as an actor.

Snehan, last year got married to actress Kannika Ravi his lover of seven years and the couple reside in Chennai. Meanwhile the celebrity has made shocking allegations about popular television actress Jayalakshmi. He lodged a police complaint against her and briefed the press.

According to his complaint he has been running a social sevice organization called Snehan Foundation since 2015 and Jayalakshmi has been using his name to fraudulently collect money online. After discovering the alleged fraud Snehan had sent a legal notice to the actress but it returned as the address was fake.

Later Jayalakshmi who is also a BJP party member had gotten in touch with him seeking a compromise but Snehan had gone ahead and taken legal action. Jayalakshmi made her acting debut in the film 'Pirivom Santhipom' directed by Karu Pazhaniappan and starring Cheran and Sneha, She later appeared in several films including 'Mayandi Kudumbathar', 'Alai Pesi', 'Vettaikaaran', 'Goripalayam'. 'Muthukku Muthaaga', 'Appa' and 'Visaranai'. Her serials include 'Keladi Kanmani', 'Tamil Kadavul Murugan', 'Kalyana Parisu', 'Mullum Malarum' and 'Poove Unakkaga'.
