Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana’s much-anticipated wedding with businessman Palash Muchhal, scheduled for November 23 in Sangli, has been postponed indefinitely following a family health emergency.
Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was hospitalised due to sudden ill health just hours before the ceremony, forcing the couple to call off the celebrations. Palash, overwhelmed by the situation, also needed brief medical attention in Sangli for stress-related issues. He underwent ECG, IV drip, and other tests, all of which returned normal, and was discharged after four hours.
In the aftermath, both Smriti and Palash quietly deleted all pre-wedding posts — haldi, mehendi, and sangeet moments — from their Instagram accounts, while keeping older personal photos intact.
Amid rising online speculation and trolling, Palash’s sister, singer Palak Muchhal, issued a statement: “Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. We request everyone to respect the privacy of both families during this sensitive time.”

Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, revealed that her son himself insisted on postponing the wedding until Shrinivas recovers, highlighting his emotional bond with the family.
Fans have flooded social media with prayers for Shrinivas Mandhana’s speedy recovery and heartfelt support for the couple. The new wedding date remains undecided.
Wishing Smriti, Palash, and the Mandhana family strength and healing during this difficult time.
