Sivakarthikeyan’s first-ever sequel movie officially signed! – Official statement

Sequels are the new trend in Indian cinema recently. From top stars to upcoming actors, many have done part 2 for their films now. As per the latest update, Sivakarthikeyan is all set to have his first sequel soon. It is now official that the makers are planning ‘Aylaan Part 2’.

Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Ayalaan’ is a magnum opus sci-fi entertainer directed by R Ravikumar. The film hit the screens on the Pongal weekend and got a positive response from the audience. It won high acclaim for its incredible visual effects, computer graphics and creative alien scenes. The VFX for this film was done by Phantom FX Studios and produced by KJR Studios.

Phantom FX Studios released an official statement today saying that they are reuniting with KJR Studios, director Ravikumar and Sivakarthikeyan for the sequel of ‘Ayalaan’. As per the press release, Phantom FX signed the agreement for ‘Ayalaan 2’ on January 18th, 2024 with an initial budget of Rs 50 crores completely dedicated to VFX and CGI works. They added that the budget will be updated as the project unfolds.

‘Ayalaan’ is a story of an empathetic farmer and an alien joining forces to stop an Earth-threatening villain. It stars Sivakarthikeyan, Rakul Preet, Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, Siddharth (alien voice) and others. The film had a musical score by AR Rahman, DOP by Nirav Shah and editing by Ruben.
