It is a very positive trend that a lot of women are being absorbed into the defence. Times are changing. And now it looks like we have the very first woman Indian Air Force pilot from South India. Flying Officer Meghana Shanbough MR from Karnataka has earned this distinction.

It must be noted  that before Meghana, only five other women fighter pilots were imbibed. Meghana will be graduating from the Dundigal Air Force Academy on Saturday.”After completing my engineering in 2015, I was sure I wouldn’t want to take up a day job. I wanted to pursue something out of the ordinary,” she says.

Oh, and Meghana is also a trained singer in Carnatic music as well. Seems like her talents really know no bounds like the vast skies. Congrats Meghana!
