In recent times Kollywood celebrities have started branching into other businesses and the list goes on right from Samantha to Varalaxmi Sarathkumar to most recently Keerthy Suresh who started a natural skin care products brand. The latest to join the bandwagon is none other than popular playback singer Velmurugan.

Velmurugan who started his career as a folk singer got his big breakthrough in 2010 when he sang the chartbuster "Otha Sollala" for composer G.V. Prakash Kumar in Dhanush - Vetrimaaran's 'Aadukalam'. He has since sung many super hit songs and recently gained more limelight by participating in 'Bigg Boss 4' hosted by Kamal Haasan. He got evicted on the 28th day in the 2020 edition.

Velmurugan has turned entreprenuer and has started a coffee shop named "Ghilli Chai" in Besant Nagar Chennai. The premises was inaugurated by actor-singer-composer G.V. Prakash Kumar.
