'Maanadu' which is touted to be the real comeback of Simbu has worked out so well for the actor and his fans. The film was expected to take the biggest ever opening for STR and the first-day collection has crossed 8 crores in Tamil Nadu with positive reviews from audiences, fans and critiques.

Maanadu marks the redemption of the star Silambarasan and the genre is a game-changer for Tamil cinema. It is one of the very first South Indian films to be based on the time loop concept. The movie faced several hurdles on the previous day of release as the satellite and digital remained unsold as we reported earlier.

Now, Maanaadu has locked its TV and OTT streaming partners. The post-theatrical digital streaming rights were bagged by Sony Liv and satellited rights acquired by Star Vijay TV. It will stream on the platform post 4 weeks of theatrical run. The TV premiere is most likely to happen after 3 months.

Maanaadu also stars SJ Suryah & Kalyani Priyadarshan alongside S. A. Chandrasekhar, Y. G. Mahendran, Karunakaran and Premgi Amaren in the supporting roles. The musical score was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with cinematography handled by Richard M. Nathan and the final cut by Praveen K. L.
