Rajni and Kamal have acted together in more than fifteen films with the majority of them being action films. One of the films they both scored big in the acting department was the critically acclaimed classic 'Aval Appadithaan' directed by C. Rudhraiya. The film had Sri Priya in the central role of Manju a bold woman who chooses to live life on her own terms including sexually. While Kamal played a staunch feminist who supported her, Rajini enacted the role of a male chauvinist and their opposing views on her formed the crux of the story.
Director Badri Venkatesh has revealed that he has plans to remake 'Aval Appadithaan' with Shruti Haasan in the role of Sripriya and he has even spoken to her about it. He has also added that he would like to cast Simbu in Rajini's role and either Vijay Deverakonda or Dulquer Salmaan in place of Kamal. It is said that since director C. Rudhraiya has passed away it is unknown who owns the rights of the movie and efforts are on to trace them acquire it.
Badri Venkatesh made his directorial debut with 'Baana Kathadi' that introduced Atharvaa Murali opposite Samantha in the lead roles. He has now completed 'Plan Panni Pannanum' starring Rio Raj, Remya Nambesan, Robo Shankar, Bala Sarvanan and M.S. Bhaskar.
