Director Gautham Menon's 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu', starring Simbu and Siddhi Idnani, is all set to hit the screens worldwide on September 15. While the movie's shooting was completed months ago, Simbu resumed filming for an action scene in VTK at Lucknow yesterday.
It was speculated that the team shot for some patch works and the film will release on time. However, the latest reports suggest that the VTK Lucknow schedule involves the scenes leading to the film's sequel. Sources say that the makers have started planning Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu 2.
Adding fuel to the speculations, director GVM revealed in a recent Vikatan interview that he has plans for a sequel to Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. He said, "This film is about a guy in a gangster group. The story will focus on how his life started and how he got into the gang. The violence in the movie is designed without any exaggeration. It is also an emotional journey. I have planned part 2 in which the protagonist realises that he doesn't want to be a bad guy anymore but it is already late."
"Those who watched the film are asking when we are going to start working on the sequel. If this movie gets a good response from the audience, we will definitely work on Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu 2," added the filmmaker. Sources also say that Simbu will be seen in his 'Pathu Thala' look (long beard getup) in the part 2 lead scenes. Simbu has gone through a drastic transformation to play 19-year-old Muthuveeran in Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, which has a musical score by AR Rahman.
