Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad was caught in the middle of controversy after he allegedly assaulted an airlines officer last week.
The MP who was travelling from Pune to Delhi in an Air India flight reportedly got physical with the customer relations manager after being unable to travel in the business class of the flight. Mr. Gaikwad also bragged about beating the 60 year old with his slipper. Following the incident, the FIA banned him from flying in its member airlines.
The lawmaker is now having a tough time after Air India cancelled his tickets to Delhi on Thursday morning. Last week, he ended up taking a train back to Maharashtra. Today, Gaikwad had to take a car to reach Delhi to attend Parliament after being denied flights.
The MP, however, is not willing to offer an apology as he has said, in his statement, that the airlines staff attacked him, and not vice-versa. The Shiv Sena, along with other parties, has raised objections to the ban.
