Name of Sean "Diddy" Combs has come up again in court records on the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur. The records concern the case against 61-year-old Duane "Keffe D" Davis, accused of planning Shakur's drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.
Though Diddy remains a non-suspect in the murder inquiry, Davis has claimed that Diddy offered $1 million to have Shakur assassinated. Davis stated in a 2009 police interview that Diddy paid drug dealer Eric Von Martin for the murder, and these allegations were recently referenced to challenge Davis' bail.
Reports state that Diddy's name shows 77 times in the court documents, underscoring Davis' persistent claims. These allegations have complicated Davis' bail position since prosecutors contend that his references to Diddy should keep him behind bars.
Davis also said that Diddy wanted Shakur dead in order to get revenge against Death Row Records' boss, Shakur's known collaborator, Marion "Suge." Davis said in the 2009 interview that Diddy was driven by a personal grudge toward Knight.
