Breaking! Arya and Pa. Ranjith’s ‘Sarpatta Parambarai 2’ official announcement is here

One of the most highly acclaimed films in recent times was ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’ directed by Pa Ranjith with Arya playing the main lead.  The period boxing drama disappointed fans in only one way which is that it was released directly on OTT and would have been a massive commercial success if it had a theatrical release.

Arya has officially announced the sequel ‘Sarpatta Parambarai 2’ on Twitter with a new poster with the caption “Are you ready to witness the fierce English boxing match round 2?”.  The second part of the much loved film is jointly produced by Ranjith’s Neelam Productions, Arya’s The Show People and Naad Studios.

‘Sarpatta Parambarai’ had a host of memorable characters such as Kabilan (Arya), Mariyamma (Dushara Vijayan), Rangan Vaathiyar (Pasupathy), Dancing Rose (Shabeer Kallarakkal), Vembuli (John Kokken), Daddy (John Vijay) and Vetri (Kalaiyarasan) among others.  It will be interesting to see which of these crowd favorite characters return for ‘Sarpatta Parambarai 2’ and whether there will be more such interesting additions.  Stay tuned.
