The soldier is in the mainland, doing the act of a protector. He is not only patriotic but doesn't believe in killing the enemy. Because, after all, a soldier's purpose is to keep his countrymen from harm, not to kill any of them.
The Teaser for 'Sarileru Neekevvaru', to be sure, packs a punch. It makes the right noises right at the outset by glorifying the soldier. As the scene shifts to Kurnool, we are introduced to Mahesh Babu's lighter demeanor.
A big surprise is Prakash Raj, who seems to have played one of the strongest roles in his career. He is frustrated and his understated exasperation reminds us of his 'Okkadu' act, which is timeless. The character referring to Mahesh as 'mogudu' is a pakka mass moment.
Vijayashanthi makes do with just a hero-glorifying line for now.
The backdrops range from Kashmir to Kondareddy Buruju (erecting a set at Ramoji Film City has cost the makers Rs 5 Cr), complete with Devi Sri Prasad's rousing BGM.
Coming to punchlines, there must be a few memorable of them, thanks to writer-director Anil Ravipudi. Mahesh's "Mana daggara beraalu levamma' is exciting.
Ajay, Rajendra Prasad and a few other able actors form part of the cast. Rahsmika Mandanna is not to be seen anywhere.
With cinematography by Rathnavelu, the big-ticket flick will hit the screens on January 11.
