Santhanam in Talks for Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’ After Confirming Role in Simbu’s ‘STR 49’

Actor Santhanam, who has predominantly taken on lead roles in recent years, has made a rare exception by returning to a supporting comedy role in Simbu’s upcoming film STR 49. His most recent film as a lead, DD Next Level, received a lukewarm response at the box office.
What makes his involvement in STR 49 particularly significant is that Santhanam had previously distanced himself from comedic roles, focusing instead on building his career as a hero. However, in a recent interview, he revealed that his decision to take up a comedy role again was solely because of Simbu. “I can’t do comedy in every film like before; I agreed to this one only for Simbu,” he stated.
