Santhanam’s most recent film ‘DD Returns’ has become his career best and is running successfully all over. The ghost comedy directed by Prem Anand has several comedians such as Maaran, Mottai Rajendran, Thangadurai, Bepin, FEFSI Vijayan, Deepa, Redin Kingsley and Surabhi in the cast.
Meanwhile during a promotional interview for ‘DD Returns’ Santhanam was asked about his bonding with Nayanthara with whom he has shared screen space in several films right from ‘Vallavan’ (2006). He stated that they are like a brother and sister and he even demanded that Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan should conduct the ear piercing ceremony of their sons Ulag and Uyir’s seated on his lap as their maternal uncle.
Santhanam also revealed that he had a powerful character with a mix of comedy and seriousness in Vignesh Shivan’s ‘AK 62’ starring Ajith which was unfortunately dropped. Nayan and Vicky apparently hosted a lunch for him when he went for the story narration and he also spent time with their children.
