Actress Sangeetha the granddaughter of legendary producer K.R. Balan made her debut in Tamil cinema with 'Poonjolai' and went on to act in several hit films in all South Indian languages. She was especially acclaimed for her powerful performances in Bala's 'Pithamagan', Samy's 'Uyir', Madhavan's 'Evano Oruvan', Simbu's 'Kaalai' and Kamal Haasan's 'Manmadhan Ambu'.

Sangeetha fell in love with singer Krish and got married in 2009 at the Arunachaleshwarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai. The couple have a daughter Shivhiya born in 2012 who is now nine years old.

Sangeetha received the prestigious Kalaimamani Award from the Tamil Nadu Government and on the special moment, she shared a picture of Shivhiya wearing the medal. She has captioned the photo "Can’t express in words for whatever u ve been & for what u r in my life . Thank u God...Love u Shivhiya".

The talented actress was recently seen in 'Kutty Story' in the segment directed by Venkat Prabhu and her next release is Vijay Antony'sThamilarasan'.
