Samantha Akkineni, who shone last year with the Box-Office hits ‘Majili’ and ‘Oh Baby’, has embarked on a new endeavour with her friends.
The star actress, along with her friends, fashion designer Shilpa Reddy and educationist Mukta Khurrana, has launched a pre-school named Ekam. This is into imparting early learning for kids. Located at Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills, the school has opened admissions for the upcoming academic year.
Talking about the vision of Ekam, Samantha says, “We can’t control everything that happens, but we can change our experience of those. Brilliant things happen in calm minds. Be calm. At Ekam Early Learning Centre, we follow a holistic approach towards learning by making Mindfulness a part of classroom learning. Mindfulness means being present, maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment with openness and curiosity. Children improve their ability to focus, pay attention and take better decisions.”
The talented actress has also been known into philanthropy through Pratyusha NGO, which gives medical support for underprivileged children and women.
Her next movie, ‘Jaanu’, will release on February 7.
