‘RRR’: XD screening for this Indian movie is a first!

‘Roudram Ranam Rudhiram’ is all set to hit the screens on March 25. On the previous day, in the US, premier shows will be held in an unprecedented number of locations. The number stands at a staggering 1150.

Meanwhile, the Rajamouli directorial has got a first in the US. Sarigama Cinemas has said that, for the first time ever, large-format resolution DCP is getting screened in Cinemark XD screens. ‘RRR’ is the first Indian film to have this. This large format will fill up the whole screen and give a unique viewing experience, the team said. 

“Not all Telugu movies that is played in XD actually fills up the full screen and it is due to the format. For the first time, this is happening to an Indian movie,” said a distributor, who is based in the US. 

‘RRR’, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead, has been made on a budget of Rs 336 Cr (excluding the remunerations and GST). This is the costliest movie to come out from Tollywood talents.
