Red hot updates on the next possible blockbuster sequel in Indian cinema!

Sequels and box office success have been a blockbuster love story in Indian cinema ever since the mammoth success of the ‘Baahubali’ saga. The ‘KGF’ franchise from the Kannada industry carried on the legacy and ‘Pushpa 2’ is currently in the works.

Meanwhile, the ‘KGF’ makers Hombale Films made ‘Kantara’ in 2022 which turned out to be another industry hit. The film’s writer-director Rishab Shetty played the lead role himself. It grossed more than 450 crores at the box office. Kantara is a mythological drama thriller about a Kambala sport champion, his tribe and their beliefs.

Earlier, Rishab Shetty confirmed that he is working on a sequel for Kantara. Now, sources tell us that Kantara 2 will kickstart with a pooja ceremony on November 27. The shooting commences in December. Reportedly, it is going to be a prequel story of Kantara part 1 and will be made at a budget of Rs 100 crore. Rishab Shetty has written the script with a lot of research and the plot is about the Tulu tribes set in the backdrop of 301 to 400 AD.
