Renowned Playback Singer S. Janaki’s Son Passes Away

The Indian film industry’s “Isaikkuyil” (Nightingale of Music), veteran playback singer S. Janaki, is a legend who has captivated generations of fans. Having sung over 40,000 songs across various languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, she is currently leading a retired life.

Tragedy has struck her family as her only son, Murali Krishna, passed away early this morning.

Born in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, S. Janaki moved to Chennai after beginning her playback singing career. She was married to Ram Prasad, and the couple had one son, Murali Krishna. Notably, Murali Krishna had also acted in a few films.

He was married to Uma, a popular dancer from Chennai, and the couple has two daughters. However, due to mutual differences, Murali and Uma eventually divorced. Uma has since overseen the marriage of both their daughters.

Following the divorce, Murali Krishna had been living with his mother, S. Janaki, in Hyderabad. According to reports, he suffered a sudden heart attack early this morning, which led to his untimely demise.

For S. Janaki, who was under the care and support of her only son in her old age, this is an irreparable loss. Upon hearing the news of Murali Krishna’s passing, members of the film fraternity and fans alike have been expressing their deepest condolences and support to S. Janaki.
