Reese Witherspoon created quite the unexpected uproar when she hopped on TikTok, unwrapping a delicacy made out of fresh snow. The actress shared footage Tuesday presenting a recipe for what she called a "snow salt chococino."
In the video, Witherspoon held up two mugs of fresh snow from her yard and stirred in salted caramel, chocolate syrups, and cold brew coffee for the wintry drink. Witherspoon might have made the snowy recipe sound delicious, but comments on the TikTok clip set off a warning alarm by some concerned users over just how safe it is to eat snow.
Concerns ranged from the potential dirtiness of the fallen snow to the idea that consuming it could lead to serious health issues. Some even requested the melting of the snow in a clear cup to check the cleanliness before giving it to children. Witherspoon then took some of these concerns humorously and gave his response on a follow-up video.
The 'Little Fires Everywhere' star assured the followers by posting a video of them microwaving snow in their backyard, which came out clear. Humorously curiously, she murmured, "Am I not supposed to eat snow?" This elicited most reassurances from many TikTok users for having eaten snow for years without any ill effects.
In her final update on the matter, Witherspoon wrote, "We're kind of in the category of like, you only live once." She noted that they don't get snow often in her area and said cheekily, "It was delicious." So, despite symptoms that may have been imminent due to eating snow, it seems Reese Witherspoon has had a sweet and lasting experience with the vintage treat.
