Superstar Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar’s banner GMB Entertainment has joined hands with acclaimed filmmaker Venkatesh Maha for his next venture Rao Bahadur, featuring the versatile Satya Dev in the lead role. Produced in collaboration with A+S Movies and SriChakraas Entertainments, the film is already drawing attention with its unique premise and striking visuals.

Best known for C/o Kancharapalem and Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya, Venkatesh Maha is now venturing into uncharted territory with an evocative psychological drama that promises to expand the horizons of Telugu cinema.

Today, ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli unveiled a gripping video titled ‘Not Even A Teaser’, offering audiences a haunting first glimpse into the world of Rao Bahadur.

A Tale of Doubt and Illusion

Set against the decline of an aristocratic family, the story follows a reclusive man who isolates himself in a crumbling mansion. Haunted not by a ghost, but by the embodiment of doubt itself, his life blurs the fine line between reality and illusion. The video hints at fragments of his past, including a mysterious love story that carries deep psychological undertones.

Running parallel is a police investigation, which raises more questions than answers—suggesting that the unsettling occurrences are only the beginning.

Satya Dev’s Transformative Role

Satya Dev takes on one of his most ambitious roles to date, portraying the protagonist across multiple timelines—from youthful innocence to aged wisdom. With drastically different looks and an emotionally layered performance, he anchors the film with depth and intensity. The cast also includes Vikas Muppala, Deepa Thomas, Anand Bharathi, and others in key roles.

Artistic Vision and Craft

Cinematographer Kartik Parmar and composer Smaran Sai craft a distinct mood that enhances the narrative’s psychological tone, while production designer Rohan Singh recreates an authentic world steeped in history and symbolism. The visuals and soundscape give the film an air of visual poetry—blending drama, thrills, and dark humor.

Release Plans

The Not Even A Teaser video has ignited intrigue, setting the stage for one of the most talked-about Telugu films in recent years. Rao Bahadur is slated for a global release in Summer 2026, in Telugu with subtitles in multiple languages.
