In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, lockdown has been implemented across the nation, and in Tamil Nadu with the number of cases increasing day by day, despite the relaxations of opening TASMAC shops in other cities, Chennai TASMAC shops weren’t opened.
However many people traveled from Chennai to nearby cities to buy liquor, and to avoid this, police teams were scrutinizing vehicles at toll plazas. When Kanathur police officers were checking vehicles at Muttukaadu toll, they stopped an Innova car to check.
Reportedly, actress Ramya Krishnan and her sister Vinaya Krishnan were in the car, and they permitted cops to check the car. It was found that there were 96 beer bottles and 8 liquor bottles, which were seized and the driver Selvakumar from Abhiramapuram was arrested. Reportedly, Ramya Krishnan and Vinaya Krishnan later got Selvakumar released in bail.
