Superstar Rajnikanth who had starred in the blockbuster Petta released this Pongal will be back next year with Darbar, directed by AR Murugadoss. Produced by Lyca Productions, this movie will have Superstar playing a police officer after several decades.

Darbar has music by Anirudh who also composed music for Petta, and the latest update is that the intro song in Darbar is a track named Summa Kizhi. Summa Kizhi will be sung by SP Balasubrahmanyam totally, unlike Petta's Marana Mass song which Anirudh and SPB sang together.

Darbar has Rajnikanth playing a police officer named Aaditya Arunasalam and is paired with Lady Superstar Nayanthara, and the movie also stars Nivetha Thomas, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Yogi Babu, Yograj Singh, Shamata Achan and releases on January 9, 2020.
