SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited pan-world action-adventure “Varanasi” continues to generate massive buzz, with the makers unveiling a striking new look of Priyanka Chopra, who plays the pivotal role of Mandakini.

Priyanka, one of India’s biggest global stars with a successful career in both Bollywood and Hollywood, is expected to play a key role in expanding the film’s international appeal. Rajamouli is reportedly banking on her worldwide popularity to strengthen the film’s reach across global markets.

Earlier, the makers introduced Priyanka’s character with a powerful first-look poster that showed her draped in a yellow saree while aiming a gun at a group of villains, teasing an intense action-packed role.

Now, a fresh still released for the international media presents the actress in a completely different avatar. Sporting a chic and contemporary look, Priyanka exudes elegance and confidence, suggesting that Mandakini will have multiple shades to her character in the film.

Apart from marking Priyanka Chopra’s Telugu cinema debut, Varanasi also brings her together with Mahesh Babu for the first time. Mahesh headlines the film as Rudra, the protagonist of the globe-trotting action-adventure, which promises breathtaking visuals, high-octane action, and Rajamouli’s signature larger-than-life storytelling.

Backed by an ambitious scale and a stellar cast, Varanasi is one of the most anticipated Indian films currently in production. The film is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide in April 2027.
