Priyanka Arul Mohan Opens Up About Working with Pawan Kalyan in ‘OG’

The countdown has begun for OG, one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year, starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan. Directed by Sujeeth and produced on a lavish scale by DVV Entertainment’s DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari, the film is set for a grand worldwide release on September 25. With the glimpses and songs already creating waves, anticipation for the trailer is running high.

As part of the film’s promotional campaign, lead actress Priyanka Arul Mohan interacted with the media and shared her memorable journey with OG.

“Working with Pawan Kalyan is a Blessing”

Priyanka, who plays Kanmani, expressed how special the project has been for her:

“My journey with OG has lasted nearly two and a half years, and I’ll never forget this experience. It’s a privilege to act alongside Pawan Kalyan. Out of all the roles I’ve done, Kanmani is one of my favorites and will always have a special place in my heart. Pawan sir is a real hero both on and off screen—he treats everyone equally, and I’ve learned so much from him.”

Coming on Board

Recalling how she became part of the film, Priyanka said:

“When Sujeeth narrated the story, I loved it instantly. The role of Kanmani felt so pure and strong. On top of that, it’s a Pawan Kalyan film produced by DVV Entertainment. I didn’t need to think twice before saying yes.”

About Kanmani’s Role

Set in the 1980s–1990s, OG will showcase Priyanka in a period look. She describes Kanmani as:

“An innocent, sweet girl who is deeply in love with Gambheera. She plays a key role in turning his life around.”

Music and “Suvvi Suvvi”

On the success of the film’s song Suvvi Suvvi, Priyanka credited composer Thaman:

“This is my first time working with Thaman. The very first song he composed for OG was Suvvi Suvvi, and I was excited for everyone to hear it. The love it’s receiving now makes me so happy.”

Pawan Kalyan’s Craze and Simplicity

Even before signing the film, Priyanka was aware of Pawan Kalyan’s massive following:

“His craze is limitless. Even in Bangalore, I knew about it. But after working with him, I realized it’s even bigger. Despite all the fame, he’s simple, grounded, and down-to-earth.”

She added that on set, the star often spoke about books, history, movies, politics, and people’s lives, bringing depth to every conversation.

Priyanka revealed that Pawan Kalyan is actively involved in filmmaking discussions:

“Before shooting, he talks with the director and actors, offering valuable suggestions that always improve the scene. Watching him perform with such ease is inspiring.”

While OG is being hailed as a high-voltage action entertainer, Priyanka assures that there’s more:

“It’s not just action. The film has a strong storyline with a solid dose of family drama as well.”

Pawan Kalyan as Deputy CM

On his demeanor after taking charge as Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, she said:

“He seems calmer and even more responsible now. He often reflects on the youth, politics, and people’s welfare. Balancing cinema and public service isn’t easy, but he’s handling it admirably.”

Working with Sujeeth and DVV Entertainment

Praising the director, Priyanka said:

“Sujeeth is very clear about what he wants and knows how to bring out the best in his actors. If Kanmani’s look and character came out well, the credit goes to him.”

On the production house, she added:

“DVV Entertainment feels like home. Though Saripoda Sanivaram released first, OG was actually the first film I signed with them. Danayya sir and Kalyan sir are wonderful to work with, and I have a lot of respect for them.”
