Priya Prakash Varrier needs no introduction. The Malayali girl became a national crush earlier this year with just a wink. Even as millions were busy being swooned by her wink, a bunch of men in Hyderabad filed cases with the police saying that winking is not allowed in Islam.
The complainants are Muqueeth Khan and Zaheer Udin Ali Khan. Pertaining to this, the Supreme Court has today not only canceled all criminal proceedings against the actress but also asked the complainants if they have no other job than to file (such flippant) cases.
The complaint was also against the lyrics of the song, which pertain to Prophet Mohammed’s life. In response to the claim that the lyrics are offensive, the SC today said that it’s just a song.
The SC also nullified the FIR that was filed against the 18-year-old actress, the director and the producer of the movie.
