Princess Kate plans to step back from the spotlight after her surprise appearance at this year's Wimbledon Championships.
When the Princess of Wales visited Wimbledon accompanying her daughter Princess Charlotte and sister Pippa Middleton Matthews, she pleased royal watchers and tennis enthusiasts. She now plans, though, to avoid public events for the foreseeable future.
Her life used to be controlled by the calendar. She now first lives her life; the calendar follows," said Robert Jobson, author of *C Catherine, the Princess of Wales: A Biography of the Future Queen*, in an exclusive interview with People.
"She will come back, but events like this alter your priorities and viewpoint," Jobson said.
Since her January hospital visit and later cancer diagnosis, Middleton has mainly kept out of public view. She has only made two formal appearances since declaring her treatment: the men's final at Wimbledon and this year's Trooping the Colour.
Despite the rigors of her cancer treatments, an individual close to the Princess of Wales revealed that she had only "two dates she was determined to attend."
"She wanted to support the King at Trooping and attend Wimbledon, which she enjoys every year," the source said OK!.
Middleton intends to stay "below the radar" now until she returns to royal duties, maybe early in this fall or early next year.
Princess Kate informed her fans on her health on Kensington Palace's official Instagram page in June, declaring she is "making good progress."
"Chemotherapy has its good and bad days," she penned. "You feel weak and exhausted on bad days. Good days call for you to maximize your sensation of wellness."
Middleton said she decided to have a more quiet life for now since her therapy will go for many months.
