Praveen gets death sentence for raping 9-Month-old

In June, a brutal rape incident came to light, shocking the conscience of Telangana.  A 28-year-old youth named Praveen kidnapped a 9-month-old baby, gagged her, and raped her.  The infant died because of the assault.  

A fast-track Warangal court has on Thursday handed over death penalty to the convict.  No lawyer had agreed to defend Praveen.  The government, keeping with the rule of law, arranged a lawyer for the accused.  

Early reports say that the court gave the punishment after Praveen confessed to his brutality.  A private employee, he took away the child when she was sleeping by the side of her parents on a terrace and assaulted her.
