Yesterday there were widespread news reports stating that Ilayathalapthy Vijay will be acting in the remake of 1992 super hit film 'Mannan' that had Superstar Rajinikanth and Vijayashanthi in lead roles. It was said that Sivaji Productions, which produced the original will be producing the remake with Vijay after the star completes his 60th film to be directed by Bharathan and K.S.Ravikumar will be directing the remake of 'Mannan' whose original was directed by P,Vasu.

But this report seems to be completely false and baseless. Actor Prabhu, the son of veteran Sivaji Ganesan and one of the current proprietors Sivaji Production has said that they do not have any plans to remake 'Mannan' and wondered how such rumors creep out.
