The musical promotions of ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ have been kicked off. On Monday, Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies unveiled a melodious song titled ‘Aaganandhe’. Composed by AR Rahman, it is sung by Shakthisree Gopalan and written by Anantha Sriram, who builds the lines based on chaste Telugu and the film’s story.
The composer deploys instruments such as Veena, Tabla and Flute to lend to the song a distinct sound. Since the film is a historical drama set centuries ago, the choice of instruments is apt.
Earlier today, the film’s key actors, Trisha Krishnan and Karthi exchanged repartees in Tamil on Twitter. Their tweets and a series of replies have gone viral.
Co-starring Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and Radhakrishnan Parthiban, the film is a sequel to ‘PS I’, which hit the screens last year and became a blockbuster. The first part was a roaring hit in Tamil. The second part is expected to log spectacular openings.
