After watching an unreal Rajinikanth in ‘2.0’ (and before that, a not-so-creatively done ‘Kaala’), it’s finally a relief that Superstar Rajinikanth is Superstar Rajinikanth in the Trailer for ‘Peta’. Besides being flamboyant (he looks quite young, says a character, as Rajini revels in the price), he has real baddies to contend with. Notice that the beloved legend keeps a cool expression throughout while all seriousness is left to be exuded by the bad guys.
From Simran to Megha Akash, from Trisha to Sasikumar, they are relaxed. Rajini is relaxed. Jithu (Vijay Sethupathi) is in for some major confrontation. Nawazuddin Siddiqui keeps an intriguing expression, Bobby Simha may fall in trouble.
Director Karthik Subbaraj ensures that S Thirunavukkarasu’s cinematography is not-so-flashy. Anirudh’s last few seconds in the Trailer is sprightly. Peter Hein’s action direction makes much impact.
If production designing is by Suresh Selvarajan, editing is by Vivek Harshan. The Telugu version has dialogues by M Rajasekhar Reddy. Costumes are by Niharika Bhasin Khan and Praveen Raja. Anantha Sriram, Bhaskarabhatla, Chandrabose, Sri Sai Kiran and Ramajogayya Sastry have penned the lyrics. Dance choreography is by Sheriff and Baba Bhaskar.
The film will hit the screens on January 10.
