Actor and director R Parthiban has been known for his unique movies and their concepts, such as Housefull, Ivan, Puthiya Paathai, Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam etc and had recently directed and acted in the movie Oththa Seruppu.

The actor, who is now acting in movies such as Vijay Sethupathi's Tughlaq Durbar, a web series and few more interesting projects besides directing a single shot movie Iravin Nizhal has revealed how he missed acting with Nayanthara in a movie.

Parthiban directed the movie Kudaikul Mazhai in 2004 and initially Nayanthara was finalized to play the female lead, but as she could not come and meet him, Parthiban decided to cast Madhumitha. Nayanthara later made her debut in Ayya released in 2005 and now is the lady superstar, and Parthiban has recalled the incident in a recent interview, adding that he's happy for Nayanthara's growth which would not have happened if she had acted in Kudaikul Mazhai. Parthiban played the villain in Nayanthara starrer, Vignesh Shivan's Naanum Rowdy dhaan.
