A film poster titled ‘Operation Sindoor’ made a sudden appearance on social media this week—only to be taken down within minutes, sparking speculation and curiosity.
The title Operation Sindoor holds significance as it was reportedly the name given to an Indian Army operation that retaliated against terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation, launched in response to Pakistan-backed terror attacks, gained wide recognition across the country and abroad.
The now-removed poster featured a female army officer in uniform, dramatically holding a gun in one hand while applying a sindoor (vermilion) to her forehead with the other. Interestingly, the officer’s face was not shown, adding a layer of intrigue. The film was said to be produced by Vicky Paklani Films in association with The Contend Engineering.
Although the poster generated buzz and mixed reactions online, it was abruptly taken down without explanation. While no official statement has been issued regarding its removal, sources suggest it may have been a precautionary move due to the sensitivity of the title and theme.
Adding to the mystery, reports indicate that multiple Bollywood production houses are currently vying for the rights to the name ‘Operation Sindoor’, which could be one reason for the sudden withdrawal of the teaser image.
As of now, it remains unclear whether the film will proceed under the same title or whether this was an early promotional misstep. Either way, the brief appearance of the poster has certainly stirred interest across the internet.
