‘Husharu 2’ Announced: Cult Youth Entertainer Returns with a Wild New Adventure

The boys are back, and this time, their adventure promises to be bigger, crazier and more unpredictable. The makers of the 2018 youth entertainer ‘Husharu’ have officially announced ‘Husharu 2’, bringing the popular franchise back with a fresh story and a whole new world of madness.

Sree Harsha Konuganti, who wrote and directed the original, is returning for the sequel. While the film retains the core themes of friendship, youthful energy and contemporary humour, the new story takes the characters into an entirely unexpected setting.

The title announcement poster offers a glimpse into the bizarre world of ‘Husharu 2’. A truck carrying the familiar Kaboom beer is surrounded by a giant snake, a turtle, a treasure chest filled with gold and a factory in the background, while the five friends find themselves at the centre of this extraordinary situation. The imagery also evokes memories of the legendary Samudra Manthan, adding another intriguing layer to the poster.

The story revolves around five ambitious friends who find themselves struggling after losing everything during the COVID period. Determined to change their fortunes, they travel to Chittragunj with an unconventional business plan to establish an agave-based tequila distillery.

However, their ambitious venture soon leads them into a series of unexpected situations, turning their plans for a better future into another chaotic and unpredictable journey. The new setting and unusual premise are expected to give the sequel a distinct identity while retaining the spirit of the original.

Along with Sree Harsha Konuganti’s return, the film features an ensemble cast including Rahul Ramakrishna, Ashok Galla, Ravi Anthony, Dinesh Tej, Sasidhar Kocharlakota, Vidhi Yadhav, Abhignya Vuthuluru, Bhagwan Tiwari, Jatin Goswami and Rajai Rowan.

The film is produced by Rahul Varma, K. Veena Rani and K. Hanumant Raju, with Komatireddy Sharan Reddy serving as co-producer. The project is backed by Caveman Stories, HK Films and Kaliyuga Vaaradha Creations.

On the technical front, G. Srinivas Reddy is handling cinematography, while Sunny M.R. serves as the music director and Ram Miryala as the additional music director. Vijay Vardhan Kavuri is the editor and Srikanth Ramisetty is the art director.

With the major shooting schedules completed, ‘Husharu 2’ is currently in post-production and is targeting a grand theatrical release towards the end of the year. The title announcement marks the beginning of the film’s promotional campaign, with the first look, teaser and further updates expected to be unveiled soon.

Given the popularity of the original and the sequel’s unusual premise, ‘Husharu 2’ is shaping up as an entertaining new chapter in the franchise.
