On Savitri’s birthday, get ready for ‘Mahanati’ surprise

'Mahanati', a biopic of the legendary Savitri, has been directed by Nag Ashwin.  Keerthy Suresh is essaying the titular role.

The news is that Vyjayanthi Movies has planned a surprise tomorrow (Dec 6th), which happens to be Savitri's jayanti.  "A day that saw the birth of one of the greatest actresses ever – Mahanati Savitri.  This year let’s celebrate her birthday together with a surprise from team 'Mahanati'.  We promise you it's going to be one of a kind…like her," the makers say.

Dulquer Salman who plays Gemini Ganesan and Samantha who appears as a journalist are playing other important roles.  Vijay Devarakonda is paired up with Samantha.  Malavika Nair of 'Yevade Subrahmanyam' fame and Shalini Pandey of 'Arun Reddy' fame have been roped in.  Prakash Raj as Chakrapani and Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao will also be seen.

Director Nag Ashwin is working with Dani Sanchez-Lopez, a cinematographer who has a rich experience of handling the camera for both English-language and Hindi-language movies.
