Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar’s much-awaited 64th film, tentatively titled AK64 and directed by Adhik Ravichandran, is all set to go on floors in February 2026. The director confirmed this latest development in a recent interaction with the media.
Speaking to the press after attending the re-release event of Ajith’s iconic film Mankatha alongside fans, Adhik Ravichandran said: “We will begin shooting in February. The film has a lot of surprises in store. Details about the cast and crew will be revealed one by one. While Good Bad Ugly was made especially for the fans, this new project will appeal to everyone — children, families, and all audiences alike. Official announcements will follow soon.”
Ajith Kumar is currently focused on his professional car racing commitments, which is why the team has scheduled the shoot to start next month, aligning with his availability. This marks the second collaboration between Ajith and Adhik Ravichandran after the successful Good Bad Ugly, which received a massive response from fans.
The pre-production work for AK64 is nearly complete, with the team actively scouting locations. The film is generating huge excitement among Ajith’s fans, who celebrated the Mankatha re-release today with great enthusiasm in theatres across Tamil Nadu.
Further details on the cast, crew, production house, and release plans are expected to be announced shortly. AK64 is shaping up to be one of the biggest highlights of Tamil cinema in 2026.
