One of Tamil Cinema’s loved and celebrated comedians, is none other than Omakuchi Narasimhan. After his debut in 1946 with ‘Avvaiyar’, the legendary comedian went on to act in the films of top heroes such as Superstar Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan. His movies include ‘Maanthoppu Kiliye’, ‘Meendum Kokila’, ‘Pokkiri Raja’, ‘Samsaram Adhu Minsaram’, ‘Indian’ and ‘Gentleman’ among others.
Unfortunately, in 2009, Omakuchi Narasimhan passed away due to throat cancer. His last film was ‘Thalai Nagaram.’ Along with this wife Saraswati, his family consisted of their three daughters and one son. His son Om Kameshwaran currently residing in Triplicane, Chennai, is now said to have become a saint. He reports that his experiences of seeing Jesus, Sai Baba and other supreme beings have influenced him in choosing this path.
