Following the outrage in the industry against veteran actor Radharavi for his statements degrading Nayanthara, and Vignesh Shivn's tweets on how Radharavi had been at this for quite long time, the Lady Superstar herself has issued an official statement on the issue, and has made several important points. Here's the excerpt of the statement.

The actress begins with the line that she reads she rarely issues public statements,as she lets her work speak for herself, but now she has been compelled to issue one to clarify and champion the cause of women bearing male insensitivities and sexism. She also thanks DMK President MK Stalin for the swift action against Radharavi.

Nayanthara reminds Radharavi that he was also given birth by a woman, and says that by demeaning women, these retarded men get a feel of machismo, besides also empathizing for the women who live in the families of such men. Rather than leading younger generation by example, to get some limelight, people like Radharavi tend to rely on cheap tactics. The shocking part is the applause he receives for these speeches. Nayanthara also adds that irrespective of remarks she will continue playing ghost or sita or any role to entertain fans. She has ended her statement with the question on whether an Internal Complaints Committee will be setup by the Nadigar Sangam and start an internal enquiry as per Vishaka guidelines, and thanking everyone who offered support in the negative phase.
