Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi one of the most versatile actors in Tamil cinema has bagged the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for his mesmerizing portrayal of a transgender woman in 'Super Deluxe' directed by Thiagarajan Kumaraja. He has thanked his director and fans for the honor.

R. Parthiepan's experimental one man show 'Otha Seruppu' has been recognized in two categories Best Audiography (Resul Pookutty) and Special Jury Award.

As reported earlier the Kalaipuli S Thandu produced 'Asuran' has received three National Awards namely Best Film in Tamil, Best Actor - Dhanush shared with Manoj Bajpayee for 'Bhosle' and Vetrimaaran the Best Director.

In Tamil, the other winners are Best Music Director D.Imman for Thala Ajith's 'Viswasam' directed by Siruthai Siva. The Best Child Actor Award has gone to Naga Vishal for 'KD Engira Karuppu Durai. Kangana Ranaut has received the overall Best Actress National Award for her two films 'Manikarnika' and 'Panga'
