The capture of Wing Commander Abhinandan by Pakistan’s military has saddened India. Images of Abhi, who was beaten up by Pakistani civilians after his capture, are being widely shared on the social media by shocked Indians.
Prominent political leaders are saying that they hope the brave pilot will return to India safely. “Pray for the safe and swift return of IAF pilot Abhinandan,” AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu said.
“His capture is public. So rest assured that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can be done to him. He is SAFE and that is the ONLY thing that matters,” Abhijit Iyer-Mitra, a defence analyst, tweeted out.
By releasing the video of Abhinandan being held captive, Pakistan has apparently violated the Geneva Convention. As per latest reports, he is being treated well.
