Nara Lokesh Steps into National Politics: Campaigns for NDA in Bihar

Marking a significant step into the national political arena, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Nara Lokesh has taken up the role of NDA campaigner, actively participating in the alliance’s election drive in Bihar. His visit to Patna on Saturday signaled not just political outreach but also a broader effort to strengthen the TDP’s ties with key NDA partners and national leadership circles.

During his two-day visit, Lokesh held a series of meetings with NDA leaders and local industrialists, exploring possible investment collaborations for Andhra Pradesh. Party insiders described the trip as a mix of political campaigning and economic diplomacy, aimed at projecting Lokesh as a pragmatic and forward-looking leader.

Earlier in the day, Lokesh joined the NDA’s campaign activities in Patna, canvassing for alliance candidates and interacting with party cadres. Later, he met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who is leading the BJP’s election efforts in Bihar. The meeting reportedly focused on both the campaign strategy and future development partnerships.

Observers point out that Lokesh’s ability to engage directly with top Union ministers and senior NDA figures underscores his growing political stature at the national level. His ease of access and visibility among Delhi’s political circles are being seen as early signs of his evolving national role.

Interestingly, while it was earlier anticipated that TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan would represent Andhra Pradesh in the NDA’s campaign efforts, Lokesh has taken the spotlight by stepping onto the national campaign stage himself — a move viewed as both strategic and symbolic for the TDP’s next-generation leadership.

As the NDA intensifies its campaign across northern India, Lokesh’s participation in Bihar has added a new dimension to the alliance’s outreach — and to the TDP’s aspirations to re-establish a national presence.
