Fire breaks out in Akkineni Nagarjuna’s film studio

A major fire broke out at Annapurna studio owned by Akkineni Nagarjuna at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The incident happened between 5.30 pm and 6pm on Monday in which fortunately no casualties were reported.

While the incident is being investigated by police officials, word is that the fire mishap might have been caused by a electrical short circuit. About 25 fire personnel were engaged in efforts to douse the fire.

One of the oldest studios in South India, Annapurna studios was established by Nagarjuna’s father Nageswara Rao Akkineni in 1975. The studio produces and distributes Telugu films while also providing facilities for works such as outdoor sets, editing, dubbing, sound stages and digital intermediate suites.
