King Nagarjuna attended the pre-release event of the upcoming Telugu film ‘Palla Burusu’ as the chief guest and showered praise on the team. The film is jointly presented and produced by Annapurna Studios and Epic Studios and is directed by debutant Uday Chauhan.
Speaking at the event, Nagarjuna revealed that Annapurna Studios is completing 50 years and said the production house has taken several important decisions as part of the milestone celebrations. He explained that the team has decided to expand its distribution activities and revive the distribution approach followed during his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s era.
Nagarjuna said Annapurna Studios has recently entered distribution and that the initiative has been progressing successfully. He added that the banner plans to produce more films at a faster pace while also encouraging new talent and fresh stories.
Talking specifically about ‘Palla Burusu’, Nagarjuna said the film carries an important message about caring for parents. He recalled that when director Uday Chauhan narrated the story to him, the theme immediately reminded him of the importance of looking after one’s parents.
“There is no greater fortune than taking care of your parents,” Nagarjuna said, emphasizing that children should take responsibility for their parents once they grow up. He also spoke warmly about his wife Amala, saying she takes excellent care of her parents.
Nagarjuna revealed that he had already watched ‘Palla Burusu’ and was impressed by the film’s emotional and entertaining nature. According to him, the movie made him laugh throughout while also bringing tears to his eyes at certain moments.
“I watched the film and found it very entertaining. I kept laughing while watching it, but at the same time, there were moments when my eyes filled with tears and my heart felt heavy,” Nagarjuna said.
He particularly praised the performances of Sudhakar Reddy, who plays Shambhu Tata, and Muralidhar Goud, while appreciating the entire cast and crew for their teamwork. He also praised music director Pawan CH, recalling that he continues to listen to the music of ‘Love Story’ and expressing confidence in the music created for ‘Palla Burusu’.
Nagarjuna further revealed that Annapurna Studios is open to producing films based on new and interesting stories. He said that whenever a fresh story appeals to the team, he is ready to listen to it and support the project.
Interestingly, Nagarjuna also mentioned that Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka had suggested making a film rooted in Telangana culture during his visit to Annapurna College. According to Nagarjuna, ‘Palla Burusu’ itself is built around an interesting story connected to its rural and cultural setting.
The film is also special for another reason, as August 14 marks Nagarjuna’s mother’s birthday. He expressed confidence that the blessings of his parents would be with the film and wished the entire team success.
‘Palla Burusu’ stars Sudhakar Reddy, Muralidhar Goud, Prajwal Yadma and Gomathi in the lead roles. Produced by Annapurna Studios and Epic Studios, the film is directed by Uday Chauhan and features music by Pawan CH. The movie is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on August 14.
