'Mehbooba', released yesterday as a true-blue love story in a tumultuous backdrop, is directed by Puri Jagannadh.  What is the first-day report?

Our ground reports suggest that Akash Puri has made a strong debut.  Seen in isolation, he is easily the film's highpoint.  Although a newbie, he is confident for the most part, especially in emotional scenes.  The intense scenes have worked because of him to a large extent, the audience say.  

Puri Jagannadh's technical departments have delivered thorough goods, the audience feel.  Sandeep Chowta's songs and the BGM, especially in lighter moments, are effective.  Vishnu Sharma's cinematography has added to the positives in Puri's taking.

The openings are said to be cool enough.  The Summer release seems to be helping the film.  Also, the trailer that suggested that the film is a commercial potboiler is also bearing fruits. The makers' strategy to project 'Mehbooba' as Puri's comeback film seems to be working as far as openings are concerned.
