Veteran director Mahendran has acted as the lead villain in Ilayathalapathy Vijay`s Their` and his performance in the film is getting positive reviews from all the corners. While the film has already made it to the prestigious 100 crore club.Indiaglitz had an exclusive interview session with the legendary filmmaker.

Here is what Mahendran shared about his experiences working with Vijay.

"During the climax fight shoot Vijay asked me whether I feel uneasy as that kind of atmosphere was entirely new for me. Then I told him that I am enjoying it really. It is not an easy joke to create an action film and make it successful. To me, making realistic films is the easiest job and making commercial films is highly risky. I have personally seen the risks he (Vijay) undergoes. People just watch it, clap for it and leave the theater halls. I was stunned to see the extent of risks he takes for an action scene

In the climax fight scene, he had to break a wooden chair and jump upwards. In the broken parts there were so many long nails. That portion was shot many times. Such nails are highly risky. I requested Vijay to not take risks with nails as it is highly dangerous. Then I told him that I have learnt a lot about how difficult it is to make commercial films and the risks involved. It is really a great thing.

Vijay also used to appreciate my acting after a shot is completed. I would ask him whether that was to encourage me as I am a new actor. He would say he really liked my performance."
